Karla joined the GECRC team in 2019 as a Classroom Coordinator, then moved into the role of Churchill Program Coordinator in 2020. Her past experience student teaching in Chicago Public Schools and working abroad in South Korea and Taiwan as a teacher and later as the Academic Coordinator, has given Karla insight into how impactful a strong education and community can be in a child's life. Karla has a Bachelors of Music in Music Education, with emphasis in Opera and Jazz and Minor in Studio Art. She has a special interest in oil painting, being a singer in a band, and traveling.
