GECRC 20th Anniversary 2021-2022

Help us commemorate, congratulate, and celebrate 20 years of GECRC’s growth and impact throughout our Anniversary Year! Over the years, GECRC students were supported academically and socially by dedicated volunteer tutors, GECRC staff, and local community partners. GECRC is committed to providing the academic and social support our students have come to rely on for 20 years into the next 20 years. We couldn’t do it without the support of our volunteers, generous community members, local businesses and community organizations.

GECRC Anniversary Celebration & Fundraiser: June 24

At  "Dare to Dream," GECRC's 25th Anniversary Celebration and Fundraiser, attendees celebrated the community that built the Glen Ellyn Children's Resource Center over the past 20 years. It was a beautiful summer night that included an auction, raffle, international food trucks and live music at the Glen Ellyn Boathouse. We are so grateful to all of the sponsors and donors who made "Dare to Dream" possible. We raised more than $50,000 that will go directly to supporting our after-school and summer programs.

An enormous thank you to our Platinum, Gold , Silver and Bronze sponsors listed above, as well as our event sponsors: Common Good Cocktail House, Glen Ellyn Family Eye Care Associates, The Kitchen Studio of Glen Ellyn and Oakley Home Builders.
Also thank you to our in-kind sponsors: Custom Direct, Inc. , Glen Ellyn IL Chamber of Commerce, J. Umlauf Design, Karly Tearney Photography, Papier Girl, Two Hound Red Brewing Co. and Wheaton Yamaha Music School. Tremendous gratitude to all of the local businesses and individuals who donated items and services to our Silent and Live Auctions! We will be listing each and every one of these kind donors in our July newsletter.

Thank you to everyone who attended the event, bid on items and donated. We are so grateful.

And finally, tremendous gratitude to our generous board members and their families who donated their time, treasure and talent to making this event an enormous success.

GECRC Family Fun Day: June 11

GECRC’s amazing community of students, families, volunteers, board members and staff all enjoyed the GECRC Family Fun Day on Saturday, June 11 in celebration of GECRC’s 20th anniversary. About 100 individuals were in attendance to enjoy face-painting, snow cones, games, a raffle and more at Churchill Elementary.  An enormous thank you to the countless individuals and organizations that made this day possible. A special thank you to the Glen Ellyn Lions Club for donating the pizza lunch for the event!

“I was excited to celebrate GECRC's growth alongside our students and their families, the most important members of our organization's structure,” said GECRC volunteer coordinator Maryam Ghouse. “There were smiles everywhere, parents and children alike got to have fun, and by my standards, that made it a successful event!”
